SITTERLY TOPS THE FIELD AT LORAIN RACEWAY PARK, MSS OPENER

AMHERST, Ohio — Otto Sitterly and John Nicotra Racing started the 2022 supermodified season one-for-one Saturday, May 14 with a feature win at Lorain Raceway Park in northeast Ohio.

With the weather forecast looking good and an anticipated field of more than 15 cars, the team traveled west for the Midwest Supermodified Series opener with an eye on claiming a rare MSS win in a series we don’t typically follow.

The night went well as Otto won his heat race before claiming the 30-lap season opener from the P4 starting spot. Multi-time MSS champion Trent Stephens was second and Rich Reid third.

Next up for Nicotra Racing’s winged supermodified program is the highly anticipated first round of the Winged Supermodified Challenge Saturday, June 4 at Oswego Speedway.

Nicotra Racing will be back in action for the Oswego Novelis Supermodified season opener — Saturday, May 28 — with Alison Sload behind the wheel of the Nicotra No. 39 Hawk Jr chassis.
