“We’re always eager to add new members to our team and we’re grateful for the loyal lineup of sponsors we’ve had over the years,” team owner John Nicotra stated. “Onyx Hose & Tube VP of Operations Todd Williams has been an Oswego Speedway and supermodified fan for years and we always enjoy his company at the track. La Parrilla is one of my personal favorite restaurants in Oswego and they do a great job there on East 1st Street. Thanks to both Onyx and La Parrilla’s support this year in addition to CORR/PAK, Flip Electronics, Peaceful Living Homes, and all the growers that continue their support, most of which have been with us from the start way back in 2007.”
As for on-track action in 2023, Nicotra says his team has another optimistic schedule planned.
“We’re happy to have Alison Sload back with us for a fourth season and the plan is shaping up for her to run the full Oswego Speedway schedule. Otto Sitterly has committed to our five-race Oswego Challenge between the Jim Shampine Memorial, Bud Classic and three ISMA / MSS Oswego shows and he’ll pick and choose other winged series races depending on how things go. We’re looking forward to another fun season with both Alison and Otto at the wheel,” Nicotra said.
In addition to managing his 11-time championship winning race team, Nicotra splits his time promoting the five-race ISMA / MSS / Oswego Speedway Supermodified Challenge.
In 2023 the series has expanded to include two of the biggest Novelis Supermodified races of the year with the May 27 Jim Shampine Memorial and September 3 Budweiser International Classic 200 joining the three Oswego ISMA / MSS events June 3, July 1 and August 12. The five-race Challenge will pay out over $250,000 to big block super teams this summer.
